Butter Chicken Pizza Recipe- 5 Minute Recipe

This Butter Chicken pizza recipe is easy to make, creamy, and delicious. If you have leftover takeout butter chicken, then making this butter chicken pizza recipe is easy.

It takes less than five minutes to assemble this butter chicken pizza and 15 minutes to cook it in a home oven. If you cook it in an Ooni pizza oven, this recipe will take less than 60 seconds.

This recipe tastes so delicious with the crispy pizza base and, at the same time, the creamy and luscious flavor of the butter chicken curry on top.

This is one of the best recipes that use up all the leftover butter chicken, and you can exchange this with any other chicken curry recipe, depending on the availability.

Ingredients and substitutions

1. Leftover Butter Chicken- You can substitute Butter Chicken in this recipe with any other leftover chicken curry you choose; it doesn’t always have to be butter chicken.

A curry-based recipe would be better, so you can use the curry as the pizza sauce.

However, if you change the curry, it won’t be butter chicken pizza, but it will taste great regardless.

2. Mozzarella Cheese- You can use a mix of mozzarella with some other cheese, but using

3. Homemade Pizza Dough- You can use store-bought pizza dough if that is more up your alley, but I have used autolyzed pizza dough in this recipe, and the results were outstanding.

The outcome was a lovely, airy, and bubbly crust that was crispy on the outside and soft and light on the inside.

You can even use Naan as the pizza crust to make butter chicken pizza.

Naan flatbread would be another alternative for pizza dough in this case. Just make sure to toast the Naan flatbread on a pan or air fryer for 2 minutes on both sides and then make the pizza as mentioned below(for Naan cooking timings, check the recipe card).

How do you use butter chicken on a pizza?

So, butter chicken may have some larger chunks of chicken that are too big for a pizza, so you might want to chop up those pieces to suit a pizza better.

Since butter chicken has mainly boneless chicken pieces, it is easier to chop some pieces and spread them evenly across a pizza.

It gives a lovely chicken-per-bite ratio, making a pizza all the more flavorful.

How to make Butter Chicken Pizza

1. Take your dough ball and stretch it out to the desired size.

2. Now take the leftover butter chicken from the refrigerator and spread the curry as a sauce first on the entire pizza.

Take the chicken pieces and tear them into smaller bits using your hands or just chop them up using a knife.

3. Once you spread the butter chicken curry on the pizza base and spread the chopped chicken pieces, it is time to top it with some mozzarella cheese.

Butter Chicken Pizza

Tip- I do not use too much cheese here since the butter chicken is heavy and buttery on its own. So I suggest starting with a little cheese and seeing how you like it. You can always add more and melt the cheese in the oven.

4. Now cook it in a convention oven at 400 degrees Fahrenheit for about 15 minutes, or you can cook it in a pizza oven like Ooni for 1-2 minutes until the pizza crust is cooked and the cheese is melted to perfection.

Can you freeze this pizza?

Yes, if you have leftover butter chicken pizza slices, you can quickly freeze this pizza. First, place them separately on a tray and freeze them for 2-3 hours. Once the curry has frozen, you can put them in a zip-lock bag. This way, they won’t stick to one another.

However, another foolproof way to ensure that the slices don’t stick to one another is to wrap the individual slices in aluminum foil or cling wrap and then put them in a zip-lock bag.

This way, you can take out individual slices and reheat them whenever you like without having to defrost the entire bag of pizza slices, which usually happens when the slices get stuck to each other during the freezing process.
