How to make Parmesan Bread Bites- Copycat Domino’s Recipe

If you love Domino’s Parmesan bread bites, this recipe will become your favorite appetizer! Who knew making Parmesan Bread Bites like Domino’s at home could be so easy?

It barely takes 12 minutes, and it becomes even simpler if you have leftover pizza dough.

Domino’s Parmesan Bread Bites have two key elements: the pizza dough (the bread bite) and the garlic-herb mixture that coats the bites.

Both are easy to prepare, and the result is amazing!

My family loves them, and they’re always ready in just 12 minutes, making them the perfect quick snack or appetizer for guests or gatherings.

These bread bites are crispy on the outside, soft and fluffy on the inside, and full of that irresistible Parmesan and herb flavor.

If you want to impress your guests, this quick Parmesan Bread Bites recipe is the way to go!

Ingredients

  1. Pizza Dough: I used my 2-hour pizza dough recipe for this one, but you can use any pizza dough—homemade, store-bought, or leftover—it all works.
  2. 2 tablespoons of Butter.
  3. 1 teaspoon of oregano (dried)- I always prefer dried herbs for this recipe because they release their aroma slowly when mixed with the warm butter.
  4. 1 teaspoon of basil (dried).
  5. 1 teaspoon of rosemary (dried).
  6. 2 teaspoons of garlic powder- In case you don’t have garlic powder, you can use 2 crushed garlic cloves. Just keep in mind it’ll give a stronger, raw garlic flavor, which not everyone likes. You can also skip the garlic if needed, but I personally think it tastes better with it.
  7. Salt: Add a pinch to taste. (Be cautious here since the butter and Parmesan cheese already contain salt.)
  8. Parmesan Cheese: Grated Parmesan cheese (to your liking).

How to Make Parmesan Bread Bites:

1. Shape the Dough: First, I roll the pizza dough into a snake-like log by rubbing it between my palms. Once it’s shaped, I lay it flat and cut it into small, 1-inch-wide pieces.

2. Baking Time: I highly recommend preheating the oven to 200°C (392°F).

I place the dough bites on a baking tray lined with greased parchment paper and bake them for 12-15 minutes until they’re nice and golden.

3. Mix the Butter and Herbs: While the bites are baking, I melt the butter and mix the dried herbs—oregano, basil, and rosemary.

I always use a mortar and pestle to grind the herbs down; I find it gives a better texture and flavor than an electric mixer, which can make them too fine and even bitter.

Then, I add garlic powder or crushed garlic (depending on what I have on hand) and stir it all together.

4. Coat the Bread Bites: Once the bread bites are done baking, I take them out of the oven and dunk each one into the butter-herb mixture with the help of a spoon.

Alternatively, you can dump the entire thing in a large bowl, add the butter mix, and nicely toss the bites in the bowl, making sure they’re well-coated.

If I haven’t already mixed the Parmesan into the butter, I sprinkle it over the bites afterward.

5. Finishing Touch: I sprinkled some fresh coriander or parsley on top to add a little color and some fresh flavor to the bites.

You can skip this step if you do not have fresh coriander or parsley in your kitchen.

And that’s it! These Parmesan bread bites are crunchy on the outside, soft and fluffy on the inside, with the perfect mix of herbs and cheese.

Crispy on the outside airy and fluffy on the inside.

They’re a hit every time, and they only take about 12 minutes to make!

Tips to Make the Perfect Parmesan Bread Bites

1. Preheat the Oven: I highly recommend preheating the oven at 200°C (392°F) for at least 15 minutes is crucial. If you don’t preheat, the Parmesan bread bites won’t cook evenly, and you’ll end up with raw bites in the center. Trust me, preheating makes all the difference.

2. Taste Before Adding Salt: It’s easy to overdo the salt since both butter and Parmesan already contain salt. Always taste the butter mixture before adding extra salt. You might find you don’t need any more seasoning at all.

3. Parmesan Cheese in the Butter Mixture: You can decide whether to add it directly into the butter mixture or sprinkle it on afterward. I like mixing it with the butter—it makes the process quicker and easier for me. But you can go either way, depending on what you prefer.

4. Pizza Dough: I used my 2-hour pizza dough recipe for these bread bites, but any pizza dough works. Whether it’s leftover dough, store-bought, or homemade, make sure it’s pizza dough. The recipe will turn out great if you have that key ingredient!

By following these tips, you’ll nail this recipe every single time, and it’ll taste amazing!

Ingredients

  • 150 grams Pizza Dough
  • 2 tbsp Butter
  • 1 tsp Oregano(dried)
  • 1 tsp Basil (dried)
  • 1 tsp Rosemary (dried)
  • 1 pinch Salt
  • 2 tsp Garlic

Instructions

  • First, I take the pizza dough and shape it into a log-like structure by rolling the dough back and forth between my palms, gently pulling it as I go. Once I have a long shape, I lay it on a flat surface and cut it into 1-inch pieces. These become the bread bites! Next, I place the pieces on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Always grease the paper first—otherwise the dough can stick to the parchment paper.
  • Now, I preheat the oven to 200°C (about 390°F) for 15 minutes. Once it’s ready, I bake the bread bites for about 12 minutes—sometimes a bit longer, depending on how crisp I want them, but 12 minutes usually does the trick.
  • While the bread bites are baking, I make the butter mixture. I melt some butter and grind together dried oregano, basil, and rosemary. I use one teaspoon of this herb mix and add it to the butter along with two tablespoons of garlic powder. If I don’t have garlic powder, I crush fresh garlic cloves instead, though that gives a raw garlic taste, which might not be for everyone. If you’re unsure, garlic powder is a safe bet. And if you don’t have garlic at all, you can skip it, but you’ll miss out on that garlic flavor!
  • Once the herbs and garlic are mixed into the butter, I taste it to see if it needs a pinch of salt. Be careful not to add too much since the butter and Parmesan cheese (if you’re using it) already have salt. I usually just add a pinch.
  • When the bread bites are done baking, add them to the butter mixture and coat them evenly. You can mix in grated Parmesan cheese in the butter mixture because it’s easier to toss everything together or you can choose to garnish it with parmesan cheese instead!
  • I sprinkle coriander on top for extra flavor, and serve them with marinara sauce.
