Ingredients

  • 150 grams Pizza Dough
  • 2 tbsp Butter
  • 1 tsp Oregano(dried)
  • 1 tsp Basil (dried)
  • 1 tsp Rosemary (dried)
  • 1 pinch Salt
  • 2 tsp Garlic

Instructions

  • First, I take the pizza dough and shape it into a log-like structure by rolling the dough back and forth between my palms, gently pulling it as I go. Once I have a long shape, I lay it on a flat surface and cut it into 1-inch pieces. These become the bread bites! Next, I place the pieces on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Always grease the paper first—otherwise the dough can stick to the parchment paper.
  • Now, I preheat the oven to 200°C (about 390°F) for 15 minutes. Once it’s ready, I bake the bread bites for about 12 minutes—sometimes a bit longer, depending on how crisp I want them, but 12 minutes usually does the trick.
  • While the bread bites are baking, I make the butter mixture. I melt some butter and grind together dried oregano, basil, and rosemary. I use one teaspoon of this herb mix and add it to the butter along with two tablespoons of garlic powder. If I don’t have garlic powder, I crush fresh garlic cloves instead, though that gives a raw garlic taste, which might not be for everyone. If you’re unsure, garlic powder is a safe bet. And if you don’t have garlic at all, you can skip it, but you’ll miss out on that garlic flavor!
  • Once the herbs and garlic are mixed into the butter, I taste it to see if it needs a pinch of salt. Be careful not to add too much since the butter and Parmesan cheese (if you’re using it) already have salt. I usually just add a pinch.
  • When the bread bites are done baking, add them to the butter mixture and coat them evenly. You can mix in grated Parmesan cheese in the butter mixture because it’s easier to toss everything together or you can choose to garnish it with parmesan cheese instead!
  • I sprinkle coriander on top for extra flavor, and serve them with marinara sauce.
