Which Pizza Chain has the Best Gluten-Free Pizza?
Gluten-free pizza is becoming more and more popular these days. So here, I have listed the best pizza chains with the best gluten-free pizza for you to choose your next order.
I do not have to stick to a strict diet where I cannot eat certain foods. However, I understand entirely how some people avoid gluten and other allergens.
If I had to pick one, I would choose a gluten-free pizza from Domino’s, not just because they are the best pizza chain but because the taste of the pizzas is JUST SO good.
I have a subtle allergy to shellfish, so I avoid them to ensure that I enjoy my meal without any allergies. That is why gluten-free pizzas should be a thing everywhere.
Pizza places that deliver hundreds to thousands of pizzas a day can sometimes be unreliable for gluten-free pizzas, so I found the best choices for you.
That way, when you and your family choose to order pizza or eat at a pizza place, you know where to go in case you want a delicious gluten-free pizza.
From big pizza chains like Pizza Hut, Domino’s, Cici’s Pizza, and Pizza Fusion to smaller and local pizza restaurants, here are the best pizza chains with the best gluten-free pizza.
The Best Pizza Chains With Gluten-free Pizza
1. Domino’s
Everybody knows Domino’s, and while they have exceptional pizzas, I love them because you can customize your pizzas however you like to fit your dietary requirements.
Domino’s has gluten-free pizzas along with toppings that you can choose from. The gluten-free crust is made from rice flour, tapioca flour, and potato starch.
That means that while it is gluten-free, it is also full of fiber and low in calories and fat. This combination of ingredients also mimics the flavor of regular pizza crust.
The gluten-free pizza from Domino’s can be ordered for delivery or carry-out. It is, however, only available in a “small” size so you need to order more if you plan on eating as a group.
2. Pizza Hut
Delicious and convenient. The gluten-free pizza from Pizza Hut is one of the best gluten-free pizzas I have ever tried, and you should too.
Pizza Hut truly satisfies my pizza cravings, and I can say it can also satisfy yours, even if you want a gluten-free pizza.
They process the gluten-free pizza in different area with different utensils to avoid cross-contamination, so the gluten-free pizza from Pizza Hut is safe for you.
However, non-gluten-free ingredients might float around the kitchen, so the gluten-free pizza from Pizza Hut is still not recommended for people with celiac disease.
Pizza Hut uses pre-made gluten-free pizza, which is not as flavorful as the one from Domino’s, but I still like how Pizza Hut makes up for it by having a lot of toppings, even vegetarian ones.
3. Papa John’s
Many people consider Papa John’s as the best pizza chain when it comes to gluten-free pizza. That is because they prepare and cook gluten-free pizzas very carefully.
Papa John’s uses Udi’s gluten-free pizza crust just like Pizza Hut. They take precautions when preparing the pizza crust to ensure cross-contamination does not occur.
They also make gluten-free cheese and sausages that go well with your gluten-free pizza. The gluten-free pizza from Papa John’s is safe for people with celiac disease.
There are some cases where people reported that the gluten-free pizza got cross-contaminated, so I still suggest that you be careful if you have celiac disease.
4. Sam And Louie’s New York Pizza
I have to remind you that when you order gluten-free pizza from Sam And Louie’s, you really need to specify that you are ordering a gluten-free pie.
They have many options, from appetizers to sides and pizzas, you can have a complete meal if you order gluten-free food from Sam And Louie’s.
I love chicken wings and appetizers like cheese sticks. The gluten-free pizza with beef, Italian sausage, and pepperoni is one of the best options.
The items are either gluten-free or are modified to be gluten-free but Sam And Louie’s does not guarantee a 100% gluten-free pizza because of possible cross-contamination.
5. Pizza Fusion
Pizza Fusion is a relatively new and small pizza place compared to the previous pizza chains. However, they have one of the best gluten-free pizzas in town.
They make the gluten-free crust using garbanzo beans, fava beans, and rice flour. This ensures that the crust is gluten-free and is also vegan.
Pizza Fusion also guarantees that you can order the pizza with almost any topping you like, except for the barbecue sauce and sausages.
You can also have a full meal with Pizza Fusion as they have gluten-free starters like salads and desserts like the delicious melt-in-your-mouth gluten-free brownies.
6. Chuck E Cheese
Chuck E Cheese might be popular with children, but adults can certainly enjoy the food from this amazing restaurant. That includes gluten-free pizzas and cupcakes.
The gluten-free ingredients arrive at Chuck E Cheese in a sealed package. They also take precautions to make sure that the pizza is gluten-free.
However, they do not guarantee that the pizza is totally gluten-free since the pizza is prepared in a shared kitchen and is not guaranteed to be completely gluten-free.
So if you are sensitive to gluten or if you have celiac disease, it is best to be careful and specify what you need on your pizzas.
7. California Pizza Kitchen
California Pizza Kitchen is one of the few pizza chains approved by the Gluten Intolerance Group (GIG) to have the proper process and ingredients for gluten-free pizzas.
From gluten-free cutting boards and stations to colo-coded containers for gluten-free ingredients, CPK ensures that they produce the best pizzas with extra precaution.
For gluten-free pizzas, you can choose from the 4 available pizzas: original BBQ Chicken Pizza, Pepperoni pizza, mushroom pepperoni sausage pizza, and Margherita pizza.
You can then complete your meal with the other gluten-free options from the menu such as the Italian chopped salad, California Cobb salad, Cedar plan salmon, and petite wedge.
8. Boston’s Gourmet Pizza
Boston’s Gourmet Pizza has been producing gluten-free pizzas for over a decade now. Out of about 16 pizzas to choose from, you can request a gluten-free version on 12 of those.
The crew is very knowledgeable when I ordered from them. They were also willing to change gloves when requested to ensure that the pizza they make is not contaminated with gluten.
They also have gluten-free stations to prepare the pizza on as well as knives, cutting boards, and pans which will make you feel secured if you want a gluten-free pizza.
This is one of the more expensive gluten-free pizzas because of the gourmet-type preparation and service so it is a really good treat if you have some extra money.
9. Uno Pizzeria & Grill
Uno, known for its amazing steaks and burgers, also have gluten-free pizzas that can be at par with the more popular and expensive pizza chains.
Choose from the thin-crust pepperoni pizza, veggie thin crust pizza, and cheese & tomato thin crust pizza from Uno’s if you want a gluten-free pizza.
All of the ingredients are guaranteed to be gluten-free, and Uno’s also takes extra care to make sure that there is no cross-contamination.
The ingredients for the gluten-free pizzas are prepared with clean and gluten-free utensils but are cooked in a shared oven so there is no guarantee that there is no cross-contamination.
10. Godfather’s Pizza
Godfather’s Pizza has a lot of branches in the country, but not all of them sell the gluten-free option, so make sure to give the branch near you a call to ask if they have a gluten-free pizza.
If they do, you can choose from the 6 different gluten-free pizza from Godfather’s. You can get the cheese, pepperoni, sausage, beef, all-meat combo, or the classic combo.
The pizza from Godfather’s is packed in a separate gluten-free facility and is wrapped and sealed when delivered until it is time to heat it up in the store.
You can either call ahead to order for a pick-up or order a take-and-bake where they give you the gluten-free pizza and you get to take it home and cook it yourself.
11. BJ’S Brewhouse
While BJ’s started with Chicago Deep-dish pizzas, they now offer thin and crispy pizzas that every pizza-lover can enjoy.
They have this amazing 10-inch, gluten-free, thin-crust cheese pizza that uses the best blends of cheeses to create a gluten-free pizza for everybody.
All, except the meatballs, of the toppings from BJ’s Brewhouse are considered gluten-free so you have a lot of options to choose from to top your pizza with.
The gluten-free crust is also herb-infused so you can be sure that they do not compromise the gluten-free crust as it is still very flavorful.
12. Garlic Jim’s Famous Gourmet Pizza
Garlic Jim’s is a great pizza place where you can make your pizza by specifying your desired ingredients. Of course, that includes gluten-free options.
There are a lot of cheeses and toppings to choose from, so the possibility for combinations of flavors is almost endless.
The gluten-free pizza crust is also tossed with gluten-free flour to ensure that the airborne flour is still gluten-free.
There is, however, a warning from Garlic Jim’s saying that they cannot ensure that the pizza is fully gluten-free and free from cross-contamination, so you still need to be careful.
Some of the ingredients Garlic Jim’s uses also come from other manufacturers that can change the formula for the ingredients, so make sure you ask about that before ordering.
13. zPizza
While zPizza might not be as popular as the others on the list, they have some of the best gluten-free pizzas you can order.
You can put gluten-free cheese such as mozzarella cheese, vegan cheese, and feta cheese on your gluten-free crust and toppings that are perfect for making a delicious pizza.
Toppings like Italian sausage, pepperoni, salami, all-natural chicken breast, BBQ chicken, and lime chicken are all gluten-free and fresh vegetables.
14. Extreme Pizza
If you checkout the gluten-free menu from Extreme Pizza, you will notice that almost all of their pizzas have a great gluten-free version.
That means you will be able to enjoy the same pizzas that your friends enjoy while also specifying that your pizza is gluten-free.
Extreme Pizza acknowledges that their pizza restaurants are not a gluten-free environment but also ensure they take every precaution when making gluten-free pizzas.
You can also order salads that are also gluten-free if you want some lighter sides with your gluten-free pizza.
15. Mellow Mushroom
Four of the specialty pizzas (Kosmic Karma, Veg Out, Mighty Meaty, and House Special) from Mellow Mushroom can be ordered and be made with gluten-free safe procedures.
You can also order all of the pizzas in the 10-inch gluten-free crust. They do, however, remind you that the gluten-free ingredients may vary depending on the location so it is best to ask the staff first.
With ground beef, Italian sausage, spinach, green pepper, pepperoni, mozzarella, and other ingredients, you can be sure that you will have a delicious gluten-free pizza from Mellow Mushroom.
Is Gluten-Free Pizza Healthier Than Regular Pizza?
There are no studies that are 100% sure that you should always choose gluten-free pizza over regular pizza but there are significant health benefits when you go with gluten-free.
For instance, gluten-free pizza contains a lot of antioxidants which can help you reduce the risks of getting viruses, heart diseases, and cancer.
You also will not automatically lose weight when you eat gluten-free pizza, if that is your goal. But, there is no doubt that it is at least a bit healthier than regular pizza.
Here are some benefits that you can get when you eat gluten-free pizza over regular pizza:
- More energy.
- Helps reduce belly fat with lower cholesterol and better digestion.
- Keeps insulin controlled or reduces insulin spikes.
- Fights acne by reducing inflammations in the body.
Who Has Gluten-Free Pizza For Delivery?
Most of the major pizza chains on the list above deliver gluten-free pizzas. However, some are smaller and are not available for delivery.
Just like Godfather’s Pizza, you can take-and-bake or order in advance and pick up the gluten-free pizza yourself, but they also have delivery.
If you do not have time for that or to cook your pizza at home, the pizza chains with the best gluten-free pizzas also offer delivery to your doorstep.
- Domino’s

Are These GF Pizzas Safe For Celiacs?
No, the gluten-free pizzas listed above are not safe for celiacs since they are not certified to be 100% gluten-free for many reasons.
Some may not process the gluten-free ingredients in a gluten-free environment, while others can have changes in the gluten-free ingredients they use.
Most of the listed pizza chains above are either restaurant-style or pizza delivery-style. Both cook a lot of pizzas in the same kitchen and prepare them well.
So while they do have gluten-free pizzas, they are not 100% gluten-free. There is always a risk of cross-contamination.
That means that supersensitive people cannot eat these pizzas. People with celiac disease might still have negative reactions even with the airborne flour and ingredients that are not gluten-free.
Your safest bet, if you have celiac disease is the gluten-free pizza from California Pizza Kitchen since they are certified by the Gluten Intolerance Group.
