Ingredients

  • 250 grams Pizza Dough
  • 10 Button Mushrooms
  • 6-7 Garlic Cloves
  • 3 tbsp Olive Oil
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 3 tbsp Pizza Sauce
  • 2 tbsp Flour(to stretch the dough)
  • 2 pieces Green Chili

Instructions

  • Add the olive oil into pan, then add the chilies and garlic. Sauté for a while, but make sure not to brown the garlic. The garlic should remain white or slightly golden, but not brown—be careful not to burn it. Once the oil becomes fragrant, add the mushrooms to the pan.
  • Saute the mushrooms for 5-10 minutes, stirring occasionally. Once they’re done, add a pinch of salt, switch off the heat, and transfer the mushrooms to a clean bowl. This ensures they stop cooking as soon as transferred to a bowl.
  • Stretch the pizza dough and place it on a hot(extremely hot) cast iron pan. Heat the cast iron pan on medium heat for about 3-4 minutes to get the base crispy and swift off the heat.
  • Spread the sauce evenly over the dough. Add a generous layer of mozzarella cheese, followed by the mushroom topping. Sprinkle a little more mozzarella on top to hold the toppings together as it melts.
  • Transfer the pan to a preheated oven(preheated at 200°C for atleast 15 minutes) and bake the pizza at 190°C for about 10 minutes. If the pizza is thicker, it may take a little longer—just keep an eye on it and bake until the crust is cooked through and has a nice golden color.
  • Once done, take the pizza out of the oven and garnish it with finely chopped spring onions, if you’d like. Slice the pizza into pieces and enjoy.

Notes

1. Preheat the Oven-
Always preheat your oven before placing the pizza inside. This ensures even cooking and helps the pizza crust bake properly.
2. Choose Your Cooking Surface-
You can cook your pizza on a cast iron pan, a pizza stone, or a pizza screen. The choice is completely yours, depending on the tools you have and the crust style you prefer.
3. Prepare the Cast Iron Pan-
If using a cast iron pan, season it with a small amount of oil before placing the pizza dough on it. This prevents sticking and helps create a crisp, golden crust.
Heat the oil until it’s warm, but don’t overdo it—just enough to coat the surface. Never place pizza dough on a cold, unseasoned pan, as it will stick and won’t crisp up properly.
4. Heat the Pan Before Adding Dough-
Make sure the cast iron pan is hot before placing the pizza dough on it.
Once the dough is on, you can adjust it slightly to fit the pan, but do this carefully to avoid tearing.
The heat from the pan will help the base cook evenly and give you that beautiful crispy texture.
5. Don’t Skip the Preheat for Crispy Results-
Whether using a cast iron pan or another surface, heating it up first ensures the dough starts cooking immediately when it touches the pan, creating a perfect, crispy base.
