This caramelized onion pizza is a family favorite! With a slightly thick crust, it's topped with a layer of red pizza sauce, a sprinkle of mozzarella cheese, and a generous spread of homemade caramelized onions. Equipment

  • 1 Convection oven

Ingredients

  • 200 grams Pizza Dough
  • 150 grams Caramelized Onions(I used 4 medium sized onions)
  • 2 tbsp Pizza Sauce
  • 1 Cup Mozzarella cheese

Instructions

  • Roll your pizza dough to your desired thickness. I prefer a slightly thicker crust, but feel free to go thinner if that's your style.
  • Spread a layer of your chosen pizza sauce (I used red, but white or buffalo sauce would also work) evenly over the dough.
  • Sprinkle a thin layer of mozzarella cheese on the sauce to prevent the crust from getting soggy, especially with moist toppings like caramelized onions.
  • Evenly spread the caramelized onions over the cheese and top with another layer of mozzarella to help everything melt together.
  • Preheat your oven to 200°C (400°F) for 10-15 minutes. Bake for 16-17 minutes, checking after 15 minutes. The time may vary depending on your crust thickness—thicker crust may take closer to 17 minutes, thinner crust around 14-15 minutes.
  • Once golden and bubbly, let the pizza cool for a few minutes, then slice and enjoy! My family loved it, and it was gone in just five minutes—everyone’s already asking when I’ll make it again.

Notes

NEVER forget to preheat the oven before cooking a pizza. If you do that then you will end up with unevenly cooked pizza and it will also take longer to cook.
