Strawberry Pizza Dessert Recipe

Pizza is truly a versatile type of food. You can add any toppings that you want as long as it is available, which includes vegetables, meat, and even fruits like strawberries.

Pizza can also be made seasonal so you can add toppings that are abundant during a certain period of the year. Strawberries are always available but it may be seasonal if you have a garden.

Strawberry pizza dessert is one of the best pizzas that are made with fruit. It packs a lot of sweetness which is perfect for when you just finished your main meal.

It does not feel heavy in your stomach so you can eat as much as you want as long as you are keeping track of your sugar intake. Do not eat too much if you have some health issues.

 

 

This recipe is not like the common pizza recipe as it uses some ingredients that are not part of what we can call an authentic pizza.

Nonetheless, it is still considered as a type of pizza because of the process that goes into making one. So if you want to know how to make it, you can follow this post until the end.

We have a recipe here for you to make. They are pretty easy to do and we made a step-by-step guide so beginners can follow it with ease.

See, making pizza is not that hard. You might not perfect it in the first try but the key is to repeat the process so that you can fix the mistakes that you made the first time you did it.

Glazed Strawberry Fruit Pizza

This is one of the variations that you can do when making strawberry pizza for dessert. It is made with a sugar cookie crust and some fresh cream cheese layers.

It is pretty easy to make as you can buy most of the ingredients from the nearest local grocery store. You can also buy a premade sugar cookie dough if you want to make it faster.

 

Ingredients for the Dough

– 2 and ¾  cups of all-purpose flour

– 1 teaspoon baking soda

– Half teaspoon baking powder

– 1 cup of melted butter

– 1 cup of sugar (preferably white sugar)

– 1 egg

– 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

 

Ingredients for the Glaze

– 2 cups of water

– 1 ¼  cups of sugar

– ⅓ cup of cornstarch

– 1 box of strawberry jello mix

 

Other Ingredients

– 2 to 3 cups of halved strawberries

– 1 cup of sour cream

– ⅛ ounce of softened cream cheese

– 1 teaspoon of vanilla 

– 1 cup of powdered sugar

Making the Dough

Step 1. Preheat the oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit for about 30 minutes to an hour.

Step 2. Get a small bowl and then mix the flour, baking powder, and baking soda together. Do not put the wet ingredients just yet.

Step 3. In a separate bowl, mix the sugar and the melted butter until they make a smooth cream.

Step 4. Beat the egg and then add it to the mixture. Put the vanilla extract as well.

Step 5. Gradually put the dry ingredients that you have mixed earlier and continue mixing. Keep adding the dry ingredients until they make a nice texture for the dough.

Step 6. On a greased pan, spread the dough and then let it bake for at least 15 minutes or until it turns golden brown and then let it cool down for a bit.

 

 

Making the Glaze

Step 1. Put the water, sugar, and cornstarch in a saucepan and mix them well under medium heat. Keep stirring until the mixture becomes thick and clear.

At first, it may seem cloudy but keep on stirring and it will eventually turn clear and thick.

 

Step 2. Remove from the heat and then set it aside to cool down.

 

Assembling the Pizza

Step 1. Mix the cream cheese, sour cream, vanilla, and powdered sugar in a bowl or you can use an electric mixer to get a more consistent mixture.

Step 2. After the mixture is smoothened, spread it on the cooled crust. Make sure the crust has cooled down completely so it does not cook up the other ingredients.

Step 3. Arrange the strawberries on top of the crust neatly and then glaze them with as much as you want and then put it in the fridge.

Step 4. Once cooled, you can then serve it and enjoy it!

 

Fruit Pizza

Strawberries are great for pizza as tested in this recipe. However, there are a lot of choices that you can put in a fruit pizza and you can be as creative as you want.

Making a fruit pizza is just like making your regular authentic pizza meal. You can put toppings that are available and make them as delicious as you want.

When you want to make a fruit pizza with the main ingredient other than strawberry, you can skip the glaze if you think that it is too sweet.

You can also make your own glaze based on the fruit that you are using. We found out that one of the best glazes is made from raspberries or pineapples.

This just backs the claim that you can be as creative as can be – there are no rules in making fruit pizzas. Just as long as you love the result.

Humans are not capable of producing Vitamin C by themselves. Strawberries are a good source of this vitamin and a cup of this fruit is enough for the daily Vitamin C requirement of our body.

Vitamin C is a great Immune System Booster and it also acts as a great antioxidant. This vitamin C that is found in strawberries is also a good vitamin to strengthen your eyes specifically the retina.

 

Lowers the risk of getting Cancer

The Ellagic Acid that is found in strawberries has been proven to control the growth of cancer cells. Therefore, it slows down the process of developing cancer cells or even cancels them.

Free radicals are the causes of cancer cells mutating. Strawberries also contain antioxidants lutein and zeaxanthin which fight free radicals and their negative effects on the body.

 

 

Rich in Fiber

Strawberries contain a lot of fibers and it has been long proven that fiber is a great remedy for the digestive system. It cleans out the pathways for healthier absorption of other vitamins and minerals.

The fiber in strawberries also helps in reducing the risk of getting type 2 diabetes. Fiber helps absorb sugar so that will help if you get more of this delicious fruit.

Since it helps in digesting food, strawberries are also a great food for reducing weight. Acids and other minerals that strawberries have can help remove bad cholesterol for a healthy heart.
