The Ooni Koda 16 does promise a large cooking space and a gas burner that would help you cook your pies within a few minutes. The Ooni Pro is a multi-fueled pizza oven, and both ovens have something to offer.
So, let’s compare these two ovens and find out which one is better than the other!
Design and Features– Ooni Koda 16 vs Ooni Pro 16
Tha Ooni Koda 16 has an outer design, which is pretty similar to the Ooni Koda.
The Ooni Koda 16 is a pretty amazing oven with an excellent build consisting of a powder-coated steel shell for superior heat retention and weather resistance.
The oven roof is all ceramic fiber-insulated, powder-coated steel, which makes it a perfect choice for outdoor cooking. The cast-aluminum front adds to the beauty of this pizza oven.
The pizza oven is pretty strong and has an excellent build, making it amazing outdoors, and you can even keep it outdoors in all seasons as it can withstand the temperature changes.
The Ooni Pro has a highly durable build as well, and it comes with using different fuels to fire up the pizza oven. Both the pizza ovens are equally large, and hence the question arises which one is a better choice?
The Ooni Pro has a brushed stainless steel finish with ceramic fiber insulation, making it a powerful outdoor pizza oven.
The build is so amazing that you can keep the pizza oven outdoors all year long without damaging any parts of the oven(although we would advise you to get a cover).
Now, comparing the two pizza ovens, the Ooni Koda 16 is more of an open design where the oven does not have a closing door to the oven and a thermometer on the oven.

You need to get a separate IR thermometer if you want to get the Ooni Koda 16.
The Ooni Pro, on the other hand, comes with an enclosing door with an insulated handle that makes the handling of the oven convenient.
The door has a thermometer so you can tell the temperature inside the pizza oven.
Both the pizza ovens are large enough to cook a 16-inch pizza, and the cooking surface is pretty similar.
The Ooni Pro seems to have a tad bit larger space.
This way, you can cook more dishes inside the Pro as you get more space to insert your cast iron skillet or even a full chicken. The Koda has a limited space, which can be an issue for some people.
Fuels you can use with Ooni Pro 16 and Ooni Koda 16
The Ooni Koda 16, just like the Ooni Koda, is a gas-fueled pizza oven, and if you are looking for a multi-fueled pizza oven, it would be better if you turned around to options like the Ooni Pro or the Ooni Karu.
Ooni Koda is only gas-fueled, but it works amazingly well, and you are going to like it since there is no trouble of inserting wood every few minutes.
The Ooni Koda 16 is propane-fueled, but soon, Ooni would come out with a Natural gas conversion kit, and it would be available soon on the Ooni website.
The Ooni Koda 16 pizza oven is easy to use because it can reach high temperatures within a few minutes with ease. The gas regulator is easy to operate, making it a user-friendly pizza oven.
Gas-fueled pizza ovens are easier to use because you can control the flame and the temperature inside the oven.
You cannot do much in a wood-fired pizza oven, you surely can control the temperature, but it would take some time for you to get the oven’s temperature to the highest.
The Ooni Pro is a multi-fueled pizza oven, which is an added advantage considering that you can CHOOSE for your oven to be a wood-fired pizza oven or a gas-fueled pizza oven.
You can get a gas attachment for the Ooni pro pizza oven, and it would work as well as a gas-fueled pizza oven, but the gas attachment does come with a few issues.
One, you need to purchase it separately, and it does not come included, and another would be some people found it a little irritating to fix the gas attachment.
Cooking- Ooni Pro 16 vs Ooni Koda 16
You have to give it to the Ooni Pizza Ovens when it comes to cooking pizzas.
They are pretty amazing ovens, and you can easily cook pizzas within a minute, which is the best part of using Ooni Pizza ovens.
Both the pizza ovens can easily cook pizzas that are about 16 inches big, and both the ovens are spacious, so you can cook any number of dishes inside them with ease.
The huge space inside these pizza ovens lets you insert an iron skillet and cook fish, meat, vegetables, and many other dishes.
You can experiment with different recipes inside these pizza ovens.
The Pro and Koda are both amazing ovens, and you are not going to find any changes in the taste of the pizzas that you cook inside both these ovens.
The ovens are pretty much easy to use, and the Ooni Koda felt a little easier when cooking.
You just need to adjust the flame inside the oven and get started with cooking pizzas.
The L-shaped flames inside the Ooni Koda 16 let you cook anything evenly.
There is no need to turn the pizza around now and then for even cooking.
The 15-millimeter thick cordierite baking stone that comes with the Ooni Koda 16 is perfect for retaining heat.
If you are using the gas attachment on the Pro, then the experience might be the same, just that you have to consider a door that helps with heat retention on the Pro.
Cooking on the Ooni Pro 16 better than Koda 16 ?(Ooni Pro 16 vs Ooni Koda 16)
The Pro has a design that evenly distributes the heat inside the pizza oven.
Unlike the Koda 16, it doesn’t have an L-shaped flame, but instead, the design helps regulate the heat inside the oven.
But since the Pro primarily comes with a wood burner attachment, you will be using that more often, but if you are fine with using a wood-fired pizza oven, then great otherwise, you will enjoy cooking in the Koda 16.
You have an option of getting a gas attachment for the Ooni Pro, and that would convert the Pizza Oven into a gas-fueled pizza oven.
Still, that option is impossible with the Ooni Koda 16, meaning you cannot convert it into a wood-fired pizza oven.
You can cook 16-inch pizzas inside both, but there is more room for cooking other dishes inside the Ooni Pro. All you need is an iron skillet.
You can cook meat, vegetables, and even your meals inside the Ooni pro.
The Ooni Koda 16 can take it as well, but you need to understand that the Pro is just a tad bit more spacious.

Ooni Pro 16 vs Ooni Koda 16- The Better Pizza Oven?
Both the Pizza Ovens are pretty amazing, and I like both but considering what you are paying for, if you can do without your pizza oven using wood as fuel, then I would suggest the Ooni Koda 16.
The Ooni Pro is pretty spacious, and you are going to like the Pro as well since it is a multi-fueled pizza oven, so you can use it as a wood-fueled, gas-fueled, or even a coal-fueled pizza oven.
It makes the Ooni Pro versatile, and you can explore a lot with cooking inside this pizza oven.
