It does have a bit of a tangy taste, and its salty nature enhances the flavor of the pizza dip. Mayonnaise can improve the flavor of the pizza dip by adding something different.

There is also a factor that comes with the mayonnaise that you add to the pizza dip. You will get a different consistency, which is better than having just a simple dip with a thinner consistency.

Let’s Start

Making the pizza dip at home gives you all the options that you need. I advise that you get the freshest of ingredients to taste the best flavors in the recipe.

You get to make your pizza dip at home, so you might as well do it with the best options. This is an easy recipe, so you should not worry about any complicated instructions and settings.

The warm and perfect consistency from the pizza dip will surely impress your guests. Get ready to make a perfect dip for your pita chips or biscuits with this pizza dip recipe with mayo.

Ingredients

1/4 cup of mayonnaise

¼ cup of sour cream

4 ounces of softened cream cheese

1 cup of shredded mozzarella cheese

1 cup of shredded parmesan cheese

1 cup of pizza sauce

15 slices of pepperoni

1/2 teaspoon of oregano

1/2 teaspoon of garlic powder

There are things that you can even make at home from the ingredients. You can make your pizza sauce to create the best-tasting sauce that will go with the other ingredients.

Buying your favorite brand of pizza sauce is nothing terrible. You can even customize it beforehand by adding some ingredients that you think are missing in the sauce and then put it in the pizza dip.

Instructions:

Step 1-

Before everything else, preheat your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.

Your oven might preheat too quickly, so time the preheating process so you can use it right away and save some time.

Step 2-

Prepare the ingredients by first combining the sour cream, cream cheese, mayonnaise, mozzarella cheese, and parmesan cheese in a deep-dish pie plate or other cookware.

You can choose the type of cookware that you want to put the pizza dip on. I find it better when you use a small pot or casserole to store the pizza dip in it and reheat it later on.

Mix the ingredients well and make sure to spread them evenly at the bottom of your cookware. That way, you will catch the other ingredients later on and prevent them from burning inside.

Step 3-

Put the pizza sauce over the first set of the mixture and just like you did, level the pizza sauce over the cheeses and mayonnaise. Sprinkle the remaining parmesan cheese over the sauce.

You can also put some garlic powder over it if you want to. Add some vegetables such as bell peppers if you have some or place the pepperoni slices directly on top of the pizza sauce.

Step 4-

Take a look if your oven is ready and then place the pizza dip inside. Bake for 20 to 25 minutes, until the cheese melted over the pepperoni slices and the sides have browned.

Once the pizza dip is ready, you can then serve it while it is still hot so the bread will perfectly pair with the hot-dip that you have just cooked.

You can even garnish the pizza dip with fresh basil leaves and such if you want. It is completely optional so if you just want the pepperoni, you do not need to add any types of greens.

Recipe 2

This recipe is slightly different from the first one but it brings the same unique flavor and consistency of the mayonnaise. It is an easy twist on the first recipe.

This recipe has a thicker consistency which will stick to the bread that you eat it with. It is fun to make although it takes more ingredients so prepare to add a little extra to your budget.

If you love cheese and the sticky texture that it brings, then this recipe is for you. You will be able to make the best pizza dip that you and your family can enjoy during the colder months.

Ingredients

1 cup of mayonnaise

2 cups of shredded mozzarella cheese

2 cups of shredded cheddar cheese

1/4 cup of grated parmesan cheese

1 cup of thinly sliced pepperoni

1 can of mushrooms

1/2 cup of diced onions

1 teaspoon of dried Italian seasoning

1 cup of halved black olives

1/4 teaspoon of freshly ground black pepper

Procedure

Step 1-

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.

Make sure that you time the preheating of the oven to avoid wasting energy and time.

Step 2-

As you may have noticed, there is no pizza sauce in this recipe.

That is because it will mess up the sticky consistency, however, you can add a little bit, maybe half a cup if you want to.

So once all the ingredients are ready, get a large bowl and then mix them all in it.

Make sure to thoroughly mix the ingredients so all the flavors are distributed evenly throughout the mixture.

Put the mixture into a baking dish and use a rubber spatula to spread it evenly.

I found it easier to control the sticky mixture with a flat rubber spatula than a round stainless steel one.

Step 3-

Bake the pizza dip for 25 to 30 minutes. See, this recipe takes longer since it needs more time to melt the cheeses, especially those in the middle of the mixture, and make it evenly cooked.

If you see the edges bubbling and the top part browning a little bit, then you can remove the pizza dip from the oven. You can make the top brown a little more by placing it under the broiler.

Get your toast or crackers ready and serve the pizza dip while it is still hot to enjoy all the flavors coming in together with their sticky consistency that will get deep into the bread.

Notes:

If you use mayonnaise in cooking your pizza dip, make sure to buy the regular kind. Refrain from getting the low-fat or fat-free mayonnaise as I noticed that it does not do as well.

The purpose of having mayonnaise in your pizza dip is to add a tangy and salty flavor. You also need the mayonnaise’s right consistency, which you cannot find in low-fat and fat-free ones.

Using pepperoni is also the common way of making your pizza dip. My advice is to use turkey pepperoni instead of the regular ones especially if you want a healthier pepperoni type.

I noticed that the regular pepperoni slices can sometimes mess up the pizza dip’s consistency because they get too greasy. So turkey pepperonis are perfect to reduce the number of fats.

Pizza dips are the perfect way to eat with your pizza slices or appetizers.
