Domino’s is one of my favorite pizza chain delivery and every time we have a pizza party at home, Domino’s is the first pizza delivery service that I think of ordering pizza from.
They offer different pizza types, while Domino’s also lets you select the sizes and edit the pizza itself to your liking.
There are four pizza sizes from Domino’s. You can choose between small, medium, large, and extra-large for the pizza that you want to order.
This gives you options to ensure that the pizza you order caters to the occasion, whether you are having a simple meal with the family or you need a pizza for a large group of people.
The prices of the pizzas from Domino’s are standard compared to other pizza chains, but they can differ with the toppings you want.
So if you are trying to see what Domino’s pizza you want to order, read on as we look at the prices and sizes of pizzas from Domino’s and see which and how many to order.
Why Is Domino’s Pizza Popular?
Domino’s is a popular pizza chain mainly because it has been running for over 60 years. They are a trusted company that provides the best pizzas wherever you are.
The pizza chain started in 1960 and was founded by brothers Tom and James Monaghan in Michigan. Fast-forward 60 years later, Domino’s now has over 5,000 stores worldwide.
What made Domino’s popular in the 80s is this character called “The Noid” which was considered the main villain of Domino’s.
This resonated with children and became entertainment for adults, kick-started the pizza chain’s fame. This is what separates Domino’s from other pizza chains.
Domino’s is willing to trust innovation and try new things. For instance, Domino’s was the first pizza chain to introduce Handmade Pan Pizza and delivery trackers.
With the delivery trackers, customers could track their order from when it is placed to when the pizza is ready to be picked up or delivered to their homes.
Domino’s also partnered with Ford to introduce self-driving car deliveries. They also introduced Domino’s Profiles which lets customers save their previous orders.
Along with these, Domino’s also has exceptional pizzas that people love, so it is no wonder it has been the only back-to-back recipient of Pizza Today Magazine’s “Chain Of The Year”.

Domino’s Pizza Sizes
You can get any pizza that you want in four different sizes. Domino’s has small pizza, a medium pizza, a large pizza, and X-large pizza sizes.
Small pizzas are 10 inches in diameter and can feed up to 3 people. It is a great choice if you plan on eating it yourself with some leftovers.
Domino’s medium pizzas cater to a family meal. It is 12 inches and can feed up to 4-6 people so if you want a pizza dinner, I recommend getting the medium-sized pizza.
A large pizza from Domino’s is 14 inches, meaning you might have some leftovers if you only have to feed 6 people. The large pizza caters to 8 people.
If you have a large gathering where you need to feed up to 10 people or more, it is best to go with the 16-inch X-large pizza from Domino’s to feed all of your guests.
Number Of Slices In Domino’s Pizza
I usually refer to the number of slices that a pizza has to see how many pizzas I should buy. However, Domino’s does not follow the usual number of slices on their pizzas.
For instance, most pizza chains would have 10 slices on a 14-inch pizza while Domino’s has 8 slices on their large pizza with the same 14-inch diameter.
You can specify on the instruction page to add more slices to your pizza but the standard Domino’s pizza slices are fewer than most pizza chains.
Domino’s Pizza Size | Number Of Slices |
Small (10 inches) | 6 slices |
Medium (12 inches) | 8 slices |
Large (14 inches) | 8 slices |
X-large (16 inches) | 6 slices |
Different Types Of Domino’s Pizza Crust
As I mentioned, you can also select the type of crust you want with your pizza. Domino’s offers 5 different crusts to choose from.
My favorite handmade pan pizza crust is a relatively thin crust that goes well with meat and veggie toppings.
My personal favorite is the hand-tossed pizza crust as it is always crunchy. It is also thin so my stomach does not feel too heavy after eating a few slices of pizza.
You can also get a crunchy thin crust, Brooklyn style, or the gluten-free crust if you have a more specific diet that you need to follow or if you are allergic to gluten.
However, the gluten-free crust from Domino’s is not safe for celiac people since there can be risks of cross-contamination during the preparation of the pizza.
Note: Domino’s pizza crust types are also unavailable on every size. The hand-tossed crust is only available if you order a small, medium, or large pizza.
Type Of Crust | Small | Medium | Large | X-large |
Hand Tossed | YES | YES | YES | NO |
Crunchy Thin Crust | NO | YES | YES | NO |
Handmade Pan | NO | YES | NO | NO |
Brooklyn Style | NO | NO | YES | YES |
Gluten-Free | YES | NO | NO | NO |
Domino’s Sides Prices
Aside from the delicious pizzas, you can also order sides from Domino’s. With choices of bread, dips, pasta, sandwiches, and chicken, there is something for everyone.
I am not a fan of bread as a side for pizza since the pizza already has a delicious crust, but there are also sandwiches that I like and dips that go well with the pizzas.
The dips can accentuate the flavors of the pizzas, and it also helps with eating the edge of the crust, especially if you have kids that put the crusts aside after eating the toppings and cheese.
Once you let them try the dip, they will surely eat the whole slice, including the edge of the crust, because of how delicious and well-combined the flavors of the pizza and the dips are.

Domino’s Dessert Prices
After you are full of the pizzas and sides that you have eaten from Domino’s, you are not quite done, you can also select desserts from the menu to finish off your meal.
You get to choose from three different desserts available. My favorite is the choco lava cakes which give off this moist sweet flavor that I really love after eating savory food like pizza.
Domino’s Desserts | Price |
Cinnamon Bread Twists | $8.99 |
Domino’s Marbled Cookie Brownie | $8.99 |
Chocolate Lava Crunch Cakes | $8.99 |
The marbled cookie brownies are also great after eating pizzas. They are light and crunchy which makes me feel like I haven’t eaten something heavy so I recommend them.
How Many Domino’s Pizzas Do I Order?
Ordering pizzas is crucial especially if you have some guests over. As a rule of thumb, you should order at least 3 slices of pizza per person.
Not knowing how many pizzas to order can lead to unsatisfied guests, so ensure you have enough. Also, take into account whether you want leftovers or not.
Personally, I love leftover pizzas because I can easily throw one in my oven or air fryer and within minutes, I have myself a delicious pizza meal.
Since Domino’s has different pizzas slices than other pizza chains, you might have to adjust the rule of thumb.
Here are some other factors you need to consider when deciding how many Domino’s pizzas to order.
1. How Many People Will Be There?
As we mentioned before, you will need about 3 slices of pizza per person. If you have 5 guests over, you will need about 15 slices of pizza.
With Domino’s, you can order 2 large pizzas that have 8 slices each. You will have at least 1 leftover for that and well, if one other guest is hungrier than the other, they can have that last slice.
2. Appetite
The “3 slices per person” rule is adjusted for adults with relatively big appetites. If you are going to feed kids, make sure to order 2 slices per kid as 3 slices might be one too many.
A thin crust is also a good choice for kids since the crust will not be too heavy for them. Choose light toppings like pepperoni and veggies as well.
Consider the situation as well. If the guests that you are about to feed just came from heavy and tiring activity, you can add an extra slice for each person.
3. What Other Food Will You Serve?
If you are going to serve pizza only as the food for the meal, you can follow 3 slices per person. However, you might consider ordering fewer if you serve other food at the gathering.
You can order sides and other recipes as well. If you do this, 2 slices per person will be enough if they eat the other food you are to serve.
4. Do You Want Leftovers?
I love leftover pizzas because they are very convenient. I have a pizza ready within minutes just by reheating the leftover slices at home.
If you want some leftovers for later, you can order maybe one more pizza for that. Make sure, however, to store the pizzas properly.
Wrap each pizza slice with foil or plastic wrap and then put them in an airtight container. The pizza will last for up to 4 days in the freezer and up to 2 months in the freezer.
Note: If you order the X-large pizza from Domino’s, it only has 6 slices, but they are really big, so take it into account and accommodate each guest with 2 slices of the X-large pizza.

What Is The Most Popular Domino’s Pizza To Order?
The most ordered pizza from Domino’s is either the Buffalo Chicken pizza or the Philly Cheese Steak pizza. These are protein-filled pizzas that everybody loves.
I prefer the Philly Cheese Steak pizza because of the meatier flavors. It has steak slices that are coated with delicious mozzarella cheese.
The savory and umami flavors on the pizza explode in your mouth, and the slight chewiness from the steak slices combine well with the crispiness of the crust.
The meatZZa pizza is also a popular choice for meat lovers. It is just like the extravaganZZa but without too many vegetable toppings so it is a great choice if you love meat on pizza.
What Time Does Domino’s Pizza Close?
Domino’s usually opens at 10 am and closes at midnight for carry-out orders. However, this depends on the Domino’s store or branch you selected.
Deliveries can stay open longer than carryout orders, with some Domino’s stores staying open for delivery orders up until 1 am on Fridays and Saturdays.
The best way to know when the nearest Domino’s store closes is to search for Domino’s location on their websites.
On the website, you can also select the delivery or carry-out time in case they have closed already, simply place your order and select when you want it to be delivered or picked up.
The good thing about Domino’s delivery is that they can deliver the pizza to your doorstep or you can specify where you are.
Whether in a park, shopping center, or beach, Domino’s will deliver the hot pizza straight to you!
